Kelly Ripa & Mark Consuelos Transform Into Lady Gaga, Bad Bunny & 60 More Costumes for Live's Halloween 2026
Jerry O’Connell just produced a particularly haunting Halloween costume.
The Stand By Me actor made a special appearance on the Halloween episode of Live With Kelly and Mark Oct. 30, harking back to the event that led to many sinister visits to the grocery store. Yep, he dressed up as bagged lettuce that caused a Cyclosporiasis outbreak across the United States over the summer.
“Everybody knows who I am, right?” O’Connell asked as he made his way to the stage. “I’m the poop lettuce from this summer.”
Hosts Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos—who were dressed up as a stick of butter and a Savannah Banana player, respectively—were clearly delighted, with Ripa exclaiming, “I love it, I love poop lettuce.”
To achieve his lettuce look, O’Connell donned a yellow hazmat suit and blue gloves as he carried a life-sized bag of salad lettuce.
“By the way,” the 52-year-old quipped, “when I told people I'm the poop lettuce, no one wanted to touch me out there.”
He's no stranger to going all out for Live on Halloween, as he gave a peek behind curtain on what it was like cohosting with Ripa in 2016.
“It’s just chaos back there. I mean, 60 costumes, give it up for everybody here,” O’Connell said. “They do it every year.”

“I had to fly home right afterwards, and our last costume was the Joker,” he shared. “I was like, ‘Oh, I'll go to the airport as the Joker.’”
But by the time he arrived at the airport and made it into the TSA line, he was no longer laughing, admitting it occurred to him, “Oh, they're never going to let me on this flight."
Luckily, his nerves were all for naught as not only did they let him on, but the TSA agents had no issues with the Clown Prince look.
“Not only did they let me on, they took photos with me,” O’Connell laughed. “The TSA people were like, ‘The Joker's here. That's OK. You're good. Go, go, go, go.’”
Live With Kelly & Mark
As for his most recent look, he took a just as creative look to his departure from the show,
Waving goodbye to Ripa and Consuelos, O’Connell playfully clutched his stomach and yelled, “I’m the poop lettuce. Oh, I gotta go. I gotta go.”
Of course, he wasn’t the only special guest to join the hosting couple—who donned a slew of costumes of their own including Lady Gaga, Bad Bunny, Elizabeth Holmes and Mark Ballas—as Lisa Rinna dressed up as Kylie Jenner to producer Michael Gelman’s Timothée Chalamet from last year’s premiere of Marty Supreme, and Kal Penn showed up as Bullseye from Toy Story.
