US politicians are using profanity in public far more frequently than in the past, according to research published by Dr. Joseph Phillips, a politics lecturer at Cardiff University. The study reveals that 87% of the 692 documented instances of public swearing by US presidents, vice presidents, and presidential candidates since 1919 have occurred within just the last decade.
