A local barber known as Emeka has been arrested by officers from the Abia State Police Command after a clay pot containing human hair was discovered inside his one-room apartment in Umuahia.
The suspect, who is widely known in Umuahia for his stylish haircutting skills, was taken into custody on Tuesday. His arrest came after his neighbor, Mr. Johnson Ikenga, filed a report with the police alleging that Emeka had been threatening him.
During the arrest, police officers conducted a search of the suspect's residence, which led to the discovery of the clay pot filled with human hair alongside other fetish items. Under interrogation, the barber admitted that the pot belonged to him, but he could not explain the purpose of the items or where he obtained the hair.
Local residents have speculated that the hair found in the pot may have been secretly gathered from customers who patronized his barber shop. While a formal statement from the Abia State Police Command is still pending, the suspect has been transported to the Central Police Station in Umuahia for a thorough investigation.
