Niger miners’ deaths: Gov Bago makes fresh revelations

Governor Mohammed Bago of Niger State has shared new details regarding the deaths of 37 suspected miners while in the custody of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

Speaking to journalists on Friday, Bago explained that foam and blood were discovered in the mouths of the victims, which could point to poisoning or suffocation. He also noted that some of the deceased bore burns on their bodies, adding that a thorough investigation is required to establish the facts.
