Meta ordered to pay an additional $567 million in public nuisance ruling

A Santa Fe district court has ordered Meta to pay an additional $567 million in the second phase of New Mexico’s landmark child safety lawsuit. The ruling, published on Thursday, brings the total charges against the social media giant to nearly $1 billion after the court determined the company's platforms act as a "public nuisance."
