Championship: Femi Azeez named in PFA Team of the Year 

Millwall winger Femi Azeez has been selected for the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) Championship Team of the Year, according to a report by the Daily Post.

The 24-year-old secured his place in the prestigious lineup following an outstanding 2025/26 campaign with the Lions. Over the course of the season, the former Reading player scored 11 goals and provided eight assists in 37 Championship appearances.

Despite Azeez's strong individual performances, Alex Neil’s Millwall side fell short of earning promotion to the Premier League. Their bid ended with a defeat against Hull City in the playoff semifinals.

Azeez was not the only Millwall player honored, as his teammate Tristan Crama was also named to the final PFA Championship XI.

In addition to his club success, Azeez's strong form led to recognition on the international stage. He made his debut for Nigeria in May, scoring twice against Jamaica's Reggae Boyz.

For Millwall, a historic South London club that has never competed in the modern Premier League, having two players named to the Championship's best XI highlights a remarkably strong season despite the playoff disappointment.
